Kellie Harry
Executive Director/Consultant/Teacher
Kellie Harry (Paiute/Washoe/Maidu) is the founder of Generation Red. Kellie is an enrolled member of the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe, Nixon, Nevada. A trailblazer in Nevada, Kellie made history as the first Native American and minority to hold the title of Nevada State High School Rodeo Queen (1998-2000) in the State Association’s 50-year legacy, and now, over 75 years. Her pioneering spirit continues to shape education and advocacy across the region.
Kellie specializes in research-driven, evidence-based instructional strategies and has consistently demonstrated success in raising academic achievement. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Humanities, a Master of Arts in Teaching (Elementary Education) from Sierra Nevada College in Incline Village, Nevada, and a Master of Jurisprudence in Indian Law from the University of Tulsa, College of Law. She is a licensed educator in the State of Nevada and holds a Great Basin Native American Language (Northern Paiute) teaching endorsement. She has served in key leadership roles, including Language and Culture Coordinator for the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony in Reno, Nevada, and Senior Advisor for Native and Culturally Responsive Education for Education Northwest, a nonprofit consulting firm in Portland, Oregon. In these positions, she has championed culturally grounded education and advanced initiatives that support Indigenous students and communities.
Her professional background spans Native language and culture preservation, classroom teaching, tribal legal advocacy, and educational consulting. Through Generation Red, Kellie provides culturally responsive education services, including curriculum development, professional learning, coaching, private teaching, and mentoring to empower students and educators alike.
